The inaugural meeting of the Gruppo Regional Veneto took place at the San Marco Veneto Club on March 19, 1990. The founders were Donato Frigo, Mansueto Aggio, Antonio Battistella, Sergio Momoli, Frank Piccin and Giuseppe Zanchin.
The “Gruppo Regionale Veneto” was established to give representation to individuals From the Veneto Region. The Veneto Region is composed of seven provinces:
Belluno, Padova, Rovigo, Treviso, Venezia, Verona and Vicenza; The Gruppo Regionale Veneto represents four of these provinces, namerly; Padova; Rovigo; Venezia and Verona.
At present the Gruppo Regionale Veneto has approximately 85 members. The major social activity is the annual Fall Dinner Dance with various meetings and recreational activities held throughout the year.
In August 1994, The Gruppo Regional Veneto established the Veneto Tennis Club. The Veneto tennis Club members must belong to the Gruppo Regionale Veneto in order to be Included in the Veneto Federation. At the present there are approximately 225 club members.
One of the major successes of the Gruppo Regionale Veneto has been the establishment of the Annual Veneto Golf Tournament. The founding members of the Golf Tournament were Frank Piccin, Mansueto Aggio, Tony Liut, Domenico Angaran, Jack Pasut and Elio Cecchetto. At the present we have added Aldo Campacci and Silvano Boatto, Chairman.
The first tournament took place on August 20, 1996. The tournament was a major Success and has become an annual event.
Anyone originating from the aforementioned four provinces or other parts of the Veneto Region wishing to join the Gruppo Regionale Veneto are welcomed.
